In the middle of her birthday party, a woman is pulled back into a question she can't escape.
R U OK? is a comedic and poetic visual performance. It combines live singing, documentary media, and shadow theatre to explore what “home” means when the world trembles around you.
Both fantastical and grounded, it asks how we continue to celebrate life while living in the shadow of war.

The performance incorporates authentic WhatsApp voice messages and recordings received on the creator’s phone on her birthday, at the beginning of a period of war and upheaval, alongside recorded voices contributed by artists and friends.
