Marie Pichon is both a clown and a sculptor.

Her latest creation, Mortelle, comes to life before our very eyes and is entrusted with a particularly delicate mission: to share the story of Marie's journey alongside her mother, who died from Motor Neurone Disease.

But how do you confront MND and death on stage without killing the mood? Almost impossible. The mood itself is in rather fragile health...

Given the choice, Mortelle would much rather be lounging on a shelf with her fellow sculpture friends. But beneath her gold tutu beats the heart of a clown. And clowns don't escape their destiny.

So, Mortelle rises to the challenge. Her metal clown nose polished for battle, she marches into the fray armed with poetry, humour and a great deal of courage.
