A mother and daughter have spent decades bound together by what they believe is God's will. When shame becomes too heavy to carry, reality is rewritten. The mother builds the world. The daughter grows inside it. Neither questions its rules. Eventually, it's impossible to tell what is real and what is imagined.
Everything seems normal until it doesn't. Familiar domestic moments begin to feel slightly off, strange, maybe disturbing. What feels unsettling in this piece is a matter of language. What these two women call love and devotion, others might recognise as duty and control. It's in that gap that we begin to recognise ourselves.
Told through striking imagery, sound and rhythmic physicality, the performance leaves audiences to piece together a reality that is never fully explained. Darkly comic, it constantly shifts from the recognisable to the uncanny. Laughter is inevitable, but it feels wrong.
