Somewhere in France, a grandfather dies. Before anyone has time to grieve, the arguments begin: cremation or burial, church or no church, and where on earth should he be laid to rest? As the family gets lost in cherished childhood memories, the forests outside are quietly going up in flames.

An intergenerational journey through the forests of their childhood begins, tracing the causes of wildfires and revealing the hidden life of the forest—everything that quietly disappears before our eyes.

Yet every forest holds the possibility of renewal. After fire comes reconstruction, and with it, hope.
