Originally from Uruguay and brought to the UK by True Life Productions, How to Cry in a House Full of Children is a powerful and intimate portrait of a mother driven to the brink of emotional collapse, confronting the circumstances that lead to her ultimate unravelling and its profound consequences.
Through memory, confession, and moments of raw vulnerability, this poetic work explores the invisible labour of motherhood, the relentless pressure to be everything for everyone, and the longing to be truly seen.
A haunting journey through tenderness, anger, identity, and resilience, the play asks what happens when the person holding everyone else together begins to unravel, and what it takes to find yourself again.
