Daughters of Spring is inspired by migration journeys and explores themes of adaptation through the lens of women in their late twenties. At its heart lies the myth of Persephone—forever caught between two worlds: the underworld and the earth. When she returns to the surface, nature blooms; when she descends, the world darkens and she is isolated. Her existence reflects the tension of duality, a life split between belonging and exile, light and shadow.
Like Persephone, immigrants navigate the in-between—torn between the memory of home and the reality of a new land. This piece speaks to the emotional complexity of that experience: the search for identity, the longing for connection, and the struggle to find wholeness in a fragmented life. The myth reminds us that this passage between worlds is not linear but cyclical—and for many, it is eternal.
