“Blessed are the forgetful, for they get the better even of their blunders.” – Nietzsche

Blessed Forgetful is a devised physical theatre piece about two immigrant artists navigating grief after losing a friend to suicide and other loved ones. Centred around a fantastical memory-erasing device, it explores whether forgetting someone can ever mean losing the love attached to them.

Inspired by the relationships among Germaine Pichot, Pablo Picasso and Carles Casagemas, and the film Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, the piece follows Camila and Kay through fragments of memory, intimacy and the pain of letting go. Through movement, sound, light, live camera and projection, memories become vivid, unreliable and sometimes impossible to escape.
