PROGRAMMING AIMS
We are open to all applications and are interested in building programming from across the world. We are particularly eager to have work that is comedic, satirical and/or optimistic as part of the programme.
TYPES OF PERFORMANCE THE VENUE IS SUITABLE FOR
Theatre, plays, readings, musicals (we have a Steinway Baby Grand), solo shows, ensemble casts.
The Space Bar is a characterful, charming and intimate bar & kitchen.
The Space is located at the bottom of the Isle of Dogs, a short bus ride from Canary Wharf and just across the river from Greenwich.

DATES OF FESTIVAL PERFORMANCES
The Space will programme Voila! Festival performances from 3 – 19 November 2026 (No shows Mondays).
NUMBER OF PERFORMANCES
We’re open to programming Voila! Festival shows for 1-2 performances.
RUNNING TIMES
60 minutes
TECH TIMES
We do not have an in-house technician, companies will need to provide their own technical support. We can provide 3-4 hour tech slots.
TURNAROUND TIMES & VENUE ACCESS
We recommend 30 minute turnaround times to strike or set up your performance, we aim to allow 30 minutes for your dedicated prep before a show.
TECHNICIANS
The Space does not have an in-house technician. The visiting company will need their own technician to rig, focus and operate the show. However, we can recommend technicians who have worked with the Space before and are familiar with our set up. Please note that any technician we recommend will be hired by the company as a freelancer, not by the Space.
FINANCIAL DEAL
Please note, the venue’s financial deal is separate from the festival registration fee.
We operate on a 50/50 split with a 6% transaction fee (Artists take home 47% of takings). Shows should sell a minimum of 20 seats per performance.
VAT: If registered, the company is liable for VAT on their share of the tickets.
ONLINE SHOWS
We are able to livestream performances from our venue internationally. These have the same 50/50 split applied. You are able to take a recorded copy of your show after the recording is finished.
