A Ridiculous Man, who tries to kill himself, falls asleep and dreams of a utopian Earth. On a distant planet, identical to Earth, the Children of the Sun coexist in harmony and naive happiness until he arrives and corrupts them with science and jealousy.
This development stage of a new collaboration between The Playground Theatre and Lithuanian director Saulius Varnas, The Dream of a Ridiculous Man, is based on one of F. Dostoevsky's most relevant short tales. Aiming to blend fresh perspectives, this multimedia piece will incorporate projected images and sound elements.
We will present the work in its exploratory phase, testing it with the Voila! Festival audience as a work-in-progress. Audience feedback will play a crucial role in shaping and refining the piece before its final development stage.
