IF MOUTH COULD SPEAK

The Playground Theatre

Following a sold-out weekend at Peckham's CLF Art Cafe, Romanian-born writer-performer Timotei Cobeanu brings his theatrical debut play back to London for two nights only.

Stuck in the vortex of a hostile town, Danny - a lost, unknown immigrant - takes London by storm in an attempt to make sense of his hidden, troubled past meanwhile grappling with a deeply uncertain future.

Absurdist romance, urban nightmares and immersive soundscapes collide in this ★★★★★ (A Youngish Perspective) spoken word solo-show about identity, London and mental health through the lens of a reckless young person on the edge of collapse.

...In the aftermath of an accident, Danny enters a coma... From his unconscious brain comes a moving yet euphoric hour of the night before the accident...

'How I wish that London could speak. One voice. One pair of lungs. One sound. Nevermind... I become fog. And fog becomes me. And fog and me are friends and we drink tea and wonder what it would be like to be dead.'
