“They say the past is another country” — a warning against nostalgia. But what if you’ve been unjustly banished from that country?
Unattended Objects is a poetic, multimedia solo show that tells the autobiographical story of a journalist in exile. After years of trying to stay factual, objective, and clear, he finds himself in a suspended reality — where perhaps being dreamy, resentful, even dodgy is the only way forward.
This intimate performance explores the tug-of-war between past and present, between ‘here’ and ‘there’. Through video, sound, and a rare, sensory journey into the alleyways of Tehran, we enter the inner world of a displaced mind — fragmented, searching, but defiantly alive.
