Feeling like her life is out of reach, a woman participates in a new mental health treatment and is confronted with memories keeping her stuck in the past. A solo show exploring scarcity mentality, filial piety, bullying, and abandonment through the lens of a multilingual and multicultural Chinese American woman, invites you to surrender to “my fever dream of a quick fix to trauma responses.”
Lipstick doesn’t make you pretty. was developed as part of the inaugural solo show scholarship cohort sponsored by Amy Hill at East West Players, the first professional Asian American theatre organization in the United States.
